D.’s Message I am extremely delighted to present this edition of student handbook of African Languages and Linguistics. It has been quiet long since the first edition of this book was released in 2012 it has been not reviewed until now. The student handbook contains vital information on mission, vision, philosophy of Department of African Languages and Linguistics, registration procedures, and examination esthetics e.t.c. The objective behind these is to assist our students to achieve a comprehensive excellence in their respective academic career. Students from their end, be ensured to be properly guided and well prepared in achieving good qualitative and sound education. Moreover, the department provides services such as student counseling, welfare and many more. In view of that, I advised students to regularly forward their enquiries on the above mentioned services to the appropriate authorities. Furthermore, the students should develop a habit of reading information on the notice board not just rely on rumour.
